Create and Explore !
Join our 2017 Summer Camp program at The Co-op School for kids ages two to six! Our collaborative Co-op School approach to experience-based learning continues all summer. Summer Camp provides a day of the creative exploration where fun is integrated with literacy and science. Whether the day features art, music, story arts, yoga, dance or playground games our kids are engaged in age-appropriate active creativity. We integrate creative arts with literacy and science — we foster curiosity!
Campers ages two and three years old start their day with a morning meeting or circle-time to introduce the music and movement activities of the day. The day’s schedule includes lots of outside time with water play and sprinklers on our rooftop playgrounds. Quiet times include arts and crafts.

This summer our half day morning program just for two year olds is back with movement and music. This program meets in our block room runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Kids will explore both of our rooftop playgrounds and work with our music and movement specialists for a full camp experience — all before lunch.

For Four-, Five- and Six-year-olds
This is a place where campers can get messy! Kids will explore hands-on science projects, construct 3-D artistic creations, and try new playground games. Our program teams up musicians and movers, painters and players, science and sculptors for inventive collaborations.

We have Field Trip Camp! Each one-week program takes our young hunters to themed destinations throughout Brooklyn — a week combines research and daily travel to fascinating destinations. Day one brings the group together and sets the stage for a week of safe and curious travel. Field Trip Camp meets in the library at Irving Place.
All travel uses public transportation and plain old walking.
Campers will recognize familiar faces as many of our Summer Camp teachers are instructors at The Co-op School. In addition to our very own, our staff features experienced specialists and college students pursuing careers in education. Following the model of our community and experience-based learning core values, we support our campers in nurturing and attentive ways to create a fun, active and memorable summer.
