Application Process

Welcome and thank you for your interest in The Co-op School. As a cooperative that prides itself on being connected to our families, we understand how important and challenging finding the right school for your child can be. Given that, we strive to provide a process that is both supportive and transparent.

The Co-op School is committed to creating a learning environment that lives up to our mission each day. We partner with our families in pursuit of our goals and relish the rich relationships built through ongoing collaboration. Our students are encouraged to show us who they are and learn more about themselves as learners and changemakers through the years. The Co-op School is dedicated to supporting our staff, students, families, and all community members on the journey of lifelong learning.

We look forward to introducing you to our school! In the meantime, we encourage you to watch our welcome video to learn more.

– For Pre-Kindergarten, students must be 4 years old by September 1st, 2024
– For Kindergarten, students must be 5 years old by September 1st, 2024

Financial Assistance

The Co-op School offers a 10% sibling discount to families with more than one student enrolled at the school.

Through annual fundraising efforts, The Co-op School is able to offer financial aid to some families who would not otherwise be able to join our school, and it is open to all prospective families. Families are notified about aid before the contracts are due. To apply for financial aid parents must complete a confidential application with School & Student Services. The application can be found here: Financial Aid Application.

Step 3: Student Visit

After the application and required documentation has been received, Prekinder through 8th-grade students will be invited to have a visit at our school in their current grade’s class.

Step 4: Receive Notification

The school will communicate admission decisions to families, adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Independent School Admission Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY).

The Co-op School does not discriminate against students and families on the basis of race, color, creed, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, or physical ability.
