What Makes Us a Unique School

The Co-op School provides a safe and stimulating micro-environment in which students experiment and learn. All members of The Co-op School—students, families, and staff—contribute to the development of our unique culture and participate in improving our community and beyond. As students learn to work together, preparing for their place in a global environment, our families also work within committees and on the board of directors to support the school.

Our Values

Compassion, uniqueness, innovation, community action, and joy—these core values are the backbone of everything we do. Our staff and students practice them in our classrooms, during projects, at recess, and reinforce them at all community meetings.

Our Approach

We strive to inspire passion and teach students to become protagonists in their own educational journey by fostering their innate sense of curiosity and creativity. Joyful learning lays the foundation for lifelong learning and critical thinking.

Our Community

Our parents and staff are brought together by our desire to provide our children with quality progressive education at an accessible price. We all play a crucial role in the journey of upholding the school’s guiding principles and overall operations.

Admissions

Under normal circumstances, in-person tours of our school would occur from October through March, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. During this time, prospective parents would visit the classrooms and shared learning areas and then participate in an inquiry session in which we give an overview of our curriculum and our parent-aided cooperative model, ending with a Q&A. This fall, in order to comply with social-distancing, we are conduction virtual tours at 9:30 am on the following Wednesdays: December 16, January 6, and January 27.
