Community Events

The Co-op School hosts a number of annual events to bring our students and family members together. These events not only create a greater sense of community, but they also help raise money for our school.

Sunset Soiree

The Sunset Soiree marks the kick-off of the new school year. It’s an informal gathering at the park where new and returning Co-op School families can socialize and meet incoming teachers and classmates. Pizza is provided!

 GrandFriends Day

It’s a moment of joy, laughter, and heartfelt connections. GrandFriends’ Day at The Co-op School serves as a bridge between the classroom and the lives of our students. Whether it is a neighbor, an aunt or an uncle, a babysitter, a grandparent, or a dear friend, a GrandFriend is someone who holds a special place in the heart of your Co-op student.

Scholarship Gala

The Co-op School hosts a Back to School Party—with food, drink, and music sponsored by local businesses—so that parents and staff can let loose for the night to mingle and forget about managing the hustle and bustle of new schedules and transitions!

Carnival

Our young artists in Creative Making learn about how Carnival is celebrated worldwide in places such as Haiti, Brazil, and New Orleans. They build large puppets and make carnival attire such as masks following a theme previously chosen. Then we will parade around the block down Gates and back to the school. Families can join in the parade and even dress up as their favorite fantasy creatures.

Book Fair and Author’s Night

Students come dressed as their favorite storybook characters for the day and then visit our onsite pop-up bookstore to purchase books in support of the school. Our Book Fair committee provides treats, readings, and games for after-school fun.

Spring Plant Sale

Community members can purchase plants and seedlings to start growing their own gardens!

Moth Night

Moth–inspired night where adults tell a life story in front of the school audience. It is the longest running event at the Co-op School and a great community bonding event.

 Movie Nights

During our popular Movie Nights our community members are invited to watch family friendly movies, such as Finding Dory and Inside Out—at our campus in their PJs! Food and beverages are served.
