Summer Camp FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions about our Summer Camp program. If you have questions that are not answered here, please e-mail camp@thecoopschool.org or call (347) 721-3408.

Can I stay at camp on my child’s first day?

You are welcome to stay with your child during drop off but we ask that you leave when the class begins circle time so the children can get settled.

Can my child be in a group with friends?

We will do our best to group friends together. Please understand that the later in the registration season it is, the harder it is for us to accommodate requests. We will always do our best, but we cannot guarantee that children will always be grouped with their friends.

Will my child feel left out if they’re only in camp for a couple of weeks?

No way! New children enter camp each week of the summer. And every Monday morning begins with special activities designed to break the ice and reshuffle the group dynamic.

What should my child wear to camp?

Your child will receive a Co-op School Camp t-shirt on the first day of camp. (Additional Camp shirts can be purchased for $5 per t-shirt.)

What about lunch and snacks?

Campers are responsible for bringing their own lunch and water bottle. Nut-free snacks are provided daily. All allergy-related dietary restrictions will be observed.

Will I be able to change my child’s schedule?

We are not able to accommodate schedule change requests. All schedules are considered final upon registration. We do make exceptions for children required to attend summer school, but official written notice must be provided in advance.

Can I cancel my child’s registration?

All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Who makes up the camp staff?

Camp staff is often made up of our very own preschool and elementary school teachers! We also work with experienced specialists and college students pursuing careers in education.
